TJR, We loved staying right within the walls in Dubrovnik! Why not rent a private apartment and be in the heart of it!? The apartment that we stayed in was awesome and it runs 70 Euro a night. I am about half way through my Dubrovnik report so I will post the info soon. The darn Basketball playoffs have my attention for the time being. Cheers!

What do you say about Rab?
Any useful information how to get there from Zadar?

I believe there should be direct Zadar-Rab buses (Zadar - Karlobag - Jablanac ferry to Misnjak on Rab - Rab Town).
Jadrolinja (www.jadrolinija.hr) runs a Zadar-Rijeka ferry with stop-over in Rab.

Krisin, Rab is a beautiful medieval town! I absolutely loved it there. I don't know what it will be like in the summer but it wasn't overrun with tourists while we were there a couple weeks ago.
