Just Back

Hi I just came home from Spain. We went to Sevilla, Madrid, Torremolinos, and Granada, if anyone has questions.

Which cities did you like the best? Which could you have skipped?

Where did you stay in Granada, and do you have the contact info?

For me, the best part of our trip was in Gibraltar. (I know, it's not even in Spain) It was a lot of fun. Madrid was great too. Sevilla I didn't really care for much, but I'm only 16. My mom really liked it, so maybe other grownups will too. Torremolinos, if you take it for what it's worth, an overcrowded, touristy beach resort, was wonderful as well. I liked shopping along San Miguel Street.
In Granada, I stayed at the hotel Carmen. I don't have the info right now, but if you email me, Monica, I could find it. It was a really nice hotel, located near good restaurants. It also has a rooftop pool and terrace with a bar. It was not crowded at all(the roof, that is) and Mom and I sat up there one night and we could see the whole city.
In Madrid, we stayed in two hotels. One the Agumar, was right near a metro and bus stop and very close to center city. The other, the Orense, was located by the financial district and wa s far from everything. (although it too was near the metro, so everything was still easy to get to) It had nicer rooms, though. Email me for phone numbers and addresses, if you want them.
Hope this helps
Sunday 7/25/99 I,also, just got back from Spain (and Paris, and Loire Valley barge )

Went to Aranjuez finally and to Alacala de Hanares. Just got on the bus or the train. very easy. Aranjuez has the palace of Ferdinand and Isabella. Alcala has the museum of Cervantes, but it was closed. Nice college town, however. Madrid was wonderful as always and Pamplona was exciting, naturally.
