Just a few Questions
 

I live in Australia and am currently planning a six month working trip to Europe to 8 different countries. I do not need to apply for a Visa as I can apply for a British Passport so I just have a few questions to ask on things which I'm unsure of if people would be willing to help that would be great!

1. For a six month working holiday to Europe do you recommend important essentials (passport, money etc.) are kept/held in a bag or what is your advice for keeping essentials safe as I have heard of pick pocketers and gypsies who steal your belongings so I was wondering what the best advice to keep important essentials safe is

2. How much money do you recommend to take when working and traveling for six months in Europe (not including flight costs)?

3. When traveling on a budget whats the best form of public transport ? Can i buy multi passes instead of one trip?

4. Are there any recommended websites which will help me find available hospitality jobs overseas?

You have tagged this for Ireland - is that the only country you are asking about? If not, the answers to some of your questions might be different.

The best means of transport entirely depends on where specifically you are going . . .

Meant to add - it is best to not take any (or much) money. ATM/cash machines are the way to get cash.

I did not mean to tag Ireland, these questions are just in general for anywhere around Europe.
Is there any form of currency cards you can get, because I don't want the fees of constantly using my bank card

There is no way to get currency for free. If you are changing it in any form - cash or CC charges or ATM withdrawals - there will always be a fee - typically 1% to 3%. If you are going to be there that long and working wouldn't you be paid in the local currency. And wouldn't that be what you are spending. Assume you might want a bank account since I don't know what jobs would pay in cash.

Also, you don;t mention what type of work you would be doing - but do you speak other languages? For most jobs you would have to be fluent in the language of the country you are going to work in.

And I think carrying papers is the least of your worries - since if you are working you will presumably be spending weeks or months in one place - and have an apt rather than a hotel.

As for cost of living - it's different all over europe - with bigger cities and resorts much more than small towns - but also much more likely to have jobs available (depending on your field of endeavor).

Just note that Scandinavia and Switzerland are MUCH more expensive than other places and some parts of central europe and Portugal are probably comparatively cheaper.
