Jurys Burlington hotel Dublin..Caillin??

Hi,
We are looking at the Jurys Burlington Hotel in Dublin for 8th August.
Searching through this site there are not many recent reports that I could see.

Anyway I was wondering what it's like there now?
We will be taking 2 rooms one for me and Mrs Muck and the other for Mucky teenagers.

I read there is a nightclub there; will that be a problem with noise and unsavoury characters? we will be there on a Monday to Thursday.

We just want access to the centre of town to walk, shop, look at the sights, eat and drink.
Also does it have a leisure club? Its not clear from the website.

Any advice appreciated.
Thanks

Muck

Hi Mucky,

I have never stayed there, but was actually there for breakfast recently. It's popular with tour groups and the location is good - within walking distance of the city centre (about 15 mins from Grafton Street) but not in the middle of the hustle & bustle.

There is a nightclub there, and there would probably be noise to one side of the hotel late at night. However I'm sure if you asked for a room at the back or the other side of the hotel you would be OK. There shouldn't be any unsavoury characters - it's a nice enough crowd in the club (I've been known to go there once or twice myself!!). The nightclub probably won't even be open Monday-Wednesday (although I could be wrong).

I'm not sure if it has a leisure club - I don't think it does but I could be wrong. There is a public swimming pool just a minute away though - http://mespilpool.com/

Thanks Caillin,
Are there any good B&B's around the area we could consider too?

Guesthouse only 5 min walk from Burlington, called Pembroke Town House. I haven't used it in about 2 years, but last time there it was very comfortable and very reasonable. Web link is

I think the Burlington is fine but matybe the Pembroke might be a nicer and more personal experience than a huge hotel. It look s lovely on the website and is near many pubs, restauraants etc for the evenings.

In the Burlington there should not be too much noise from the club as its in the basement level. I too went there in my work night out days !

Thanks for all your responses, it appears the Pembroke town house is booked out for the time we want and we can get 2 nights for the price of 1 at the Burlington so hopefully that will be a good value deal.
Though not as good as you had in Cardiff Caillin !!
I will have lots of questions when we have booked, thanks and bye for now,
Muck

LOL Mucky - we did get very lucky in Cardiff. If you have any questions about Dublin - just ask! Although I won't be around after next Monday...heading off to tie the knot with my better half!

Thanks Mucky!! I'm very much looking forward to the honeymoon! We're going to Mozambique, Botswana & then Victoria Falls in Zambia, so I've been reading lots of the Africa board lately!
