July:Paris to Copenhagen:Best way for family of 3?

We (2 adults 1 child of 9-yrs) are visiting Paris 5 nights and then traveling to Copenhagen this July. Does anyone have any recommendations on the best way to get from Paris to Copenhagen?

Nancy,

You're in luck!

Goodjet, a Swedish low fare airline, will start service from Paris-Beauvais to Malmö airport near Copenhagen tomorrow!

Their web site
www.goodjet.com
is in swedish and french only... I would give them a call at 011 46 31 708 9000.

Flights leave from Paris-Beauvais (about 75 km from the city), with a connecting bus departing from the Porte Maillot in Paris 2 hrs 45 min before the flight. On the other end, a bus drops you off in Copenhagen an hour and a half after landing.

The entire journey goes like this (schedules are different on Sundays):
Departure Paris Porte Maillot at 7:25 AM (bus to Beauvais airport)
Departure from Paris-Beauvais airport on Goodjet at 10:10 AM
Arrival Malmo airport at 12:00
Departure on bus to Copenhagen at 12:25
Arrival in Copenhagen Hovedbanegården (?) at 13:25.

So, 6 hours from city center - not perfect, but not bad either...

Bus fares are EUR 10 for Paris-Beauvais, EUR 14 for Malmo-Copenhagen.

Also price SAS and Air France to Copenhagen - it would be less of a hassle to fly from CDG directly into Copenhagen and you can sometimes get lucky with the fares. Still, I'm pretty sure Goodjet will be cheaper.

Info on the bus service from Paris to Beauvais airport at:
http://www.aeroportbeauvais.com/airport/shop_eng.html
It appears you need to buy your ticket in advance from a special shop.

Hope this helps,
Andre

Andre, thank you SO much for the detailed information! I went to the website and couldn't find any way to change it to English, so I'll call them on the telephone. (Probably would have had to do so anyway.)

I've done the trip by train with 2 kids & it took over 15 hours. Good advice above to take a plane. I chose Copenhagen & Paris as the 2 destinations on my 1st trip with my children & they loved both cities.
