France Itinerary for Advice/Comments...please!
Hello-
We are two people traveling in mid-May to France for 13 days! I have done a lot research but just want to be sure that this itinerary makes sense.....traveling with my mom who is in her 70's.
Arrive in Paris (CDG)
CDG to Bayeux or Caen via train and rent a car. Spend 6 nights in Normandy! Any suggestions that would be the easiest drop off for car a train back to Paris? We were just going to drive around and discover the area sort of speak!
Any suggestions on the Normandy part of our trip would be very appreciated.
Back to Paris for 6 nights and plan on renting a small studio....and enjoy the beautiful city.
Any great places for dinner would be a great help!
I relly would like to book this by tomorrow!
Thanks all-

To get from CDG to Caen or Bayeux you'll need to go into Paris to the Gare Saint Lazare. (There are a few trains that go by way of Le Mans but that's a long time on the train.) So consider picking up the car at CDG and driving at least a short distance. (Depends on how jet-lagged you are.) Giverny, site of Monet's home and garden, makes a good stop, and the garden should be at its best in May. All the way to Bayeux (a better place to stay than Caen) is about 3 hours driving.
On your way back, you could drop the car at Rouen, see the wonderful Gothic churches in that city, and take the train back to Paris.
Be careful about your "small studio." Small apartments in Paris can be very small indeed.

I guess we could take the RER to Gare Saint Lazare and go from there....we arrive at 8:45am so trying to decide what time to book the train. My mom hates driving with me....lol!
Yes, tiny studios but we will be out most of the time.
Thanks!
