Josef Siebel shoes
 

Awhile back someone mentioned buying Josef Siebel shoes in Paris-I can't seem to find that thread-anyboady remember it and has the info. I want to find a place here in Paris to buy them-thanks!

hi, I remember that post as I was interested also. I could not find it either using a few words I know were in it (I think it is spelled Seibel?). But, I remember the guy who started the thread posts under "Daddy" and is currently in the thread called "Wear good shoes...", very recent, so you can go post your question in there, maybe. As I recall, he bought them in US at a discount store (Fashion Shoe Warehouse or some generic name) but I do remember something about seeing them in Paris somewhere cheap, maybe. If I were you, I'd probably go to Galeries Lafayette to see if they have them, I know they carry good name-brand walking shoes (like Arche) and be sure to get the 10 pct visitor discount at the tourist info desk.

In Dallas, you can find them at Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) or Vantage Shoes Warehouse for more reasonable prices than in department stores. Really nice shoes. I know it doesn't help for Paris but maybe you know someone in the States that have one of these stores near them or you could email them.

Hey its me Daddy and I had to get in on this one. <BR> <BR>Yes I did buy Josef Seibel shoes at DSW (as did my wife)..their prices were better then the department stores like Dillards. These are indeed wonderful shoes and I highly recommend them. <BR> <BR>When in Paris last November we stayed on Rue Cler at Grand Hotel Leveque and just a couple of doors down from the hotel was a nice shoe store. I did a little price comparison and found that with the then current exchange rates that Josef Seibel shoes, as well as Ecco and MEPHISTO, were somewhat cheaper then the prices I had seen in the US. MEPHISTO brand was quite a bit cheaper in fact. I do not recall the name of this store but if you are on Rue Cler it is near the cheese shop and wine shop just next to the Leveque. I am still kicking myself for not buying some MEPHISTO shoes while there. Oh well, I will be going back soon and if the prices remain good I will get them. <BR> <BR>Have fun. <BR> <BR> <BR>

FYI looking up in the Paris phonebook, that store must be Chris Creations (chaussures for hommes et femmes) at 35, rue Cler. There is also a Mephisto outlet store apparently at 78 rue des Saintes Peres in the 7th.

Great shoes. DSW warehouse carries them. They are very comfortable. Cloud Nine by Nine West also makes a good walking shoe that is reasonably priced & carried at DSW. Both were worn in Paris for 8 days of lengthy walking and we had no sore feet at all.
