John Lennon Tributes
Are there any places anyone would recommend for John Lennon tributes in London?

Visit EMI Studios on Abbey Road. Be sure to walk across the infamous crosswalk (it still looks the same as the album cover) and have your picture taken.

There are many obsure ones such as his flat where he got busted for dope (it had belonged to Hendrix before). Also, No. 3, Saville Row which was the headquarters of Apple and where they did the rooftop concert as seen on "Let it Be". Another is Great Marlborough Street magistate's court where he made an appearance in 1970, charged with indecency laws due to his 14 lithographs of Yoko being displayed in a Bond Street gallery (incidentally, both Brian Jones and Mick Jagger appeared there to answer drug charges). <BR>None of these are particularly exciting and not really recommended. The Abbey Road (St. John's Wood) visit is worth it to see the zebra crossing. If you want good sites, then you have to visit Liverpool or New York. There is no actual tribute to Lennon (or the Beatles) in London.

Mike, the address is 34 Montague Square, which if my memory serves me is in the Marylebone area. Somebody may like to correct me if I'm wrong. It was here that John and Yoko photographed themselves for the infamous "Two Virgins" cover. The story goes that they were tipped off that they were about to be busted and got rid of all their stuff. Unfortunately, the police found some of Hendrix's stash! At least that was Lennon's story right until his last interview with the BBC in 1980. Incidentally, the railway station at Marylebone is where the opening scenes of "Hard Day's Night" were filmed. Did you know that in one of the concert scenes in that film you can plainly see a very young Phil Collins?
