Job interview & Berlin International schools

Hi everyone! I have an interview for a job in Berlin. I am from Minnesota. Does anyone have any etiquette advice or anything I should know about or do for my interview? It is via Skype. Also, what are my options for schools for my son, an English-speaking 8th grader this fall? Names of schools and prices? Is it too late to get into any? I should also mention my son has ADHD and is currently on an IEP at his public school. My job would be in Friedrichshain neighborhood.

No advice, really, just best wishes. Are you applying for a teaching position? Mr. 007 taught at JFK Schule in Berlin back in the 80s and it was a great experience... worth the sacrifice. Of course, we didn't have kids to consider.

Good luck to you!

Thank you! No it's for a marketing job. I think I'm really lucky to have been selected to interview. Maybe divine intervention? Haha! ;)

You'll get better information on life in Germany at an expat's forum like www.toytowngermany.com than on a travel site like Fodor's

Germans in business often tend to be more formal than in the US - so definitely wear a full interview suit. Also in many businesses they are more formal about titles - so don't rush to first-name people.

Congratulations on the interview! You said you got hired for a marketing job, I am currently looking for marketing jobs in Germany; would you mind telling me what company you got an interview with?

Um, wouldn't marketing jobs depend on what your area of specialization is? I would think looking for international companies with a large presence in Germany in your area of marketing would be a place to start. Certainly their are on and off-line resources that would include listings of such companies.
