Jersey to Giverny
Good Day, I am currently plotting out a trip about the channel islands and am wondering if I could fit in a trip to Giverny. I have never seen it in the spring. I figure I should be able to get from Jersey to Giverny and then CDG the next day. Taking the boat and then train to Vernon from Jersey seems like a 10 hour endeavour any way i slice it. If I fly from Jersey to Paris the trip back out to Vernon is also a little complicated. I am just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a route I have missed. A

Well going back to Paris in any case is the quickest route either via boat to St Malo or other port and train to Paris or fly to Paris - trains do not go direct St-Malo to Vernon or taking the series of sidelines would take forever.
Either TGV from St Malo to Paris or fly - Vernon is just a 45-minute or so train ride from Paris.
Or see if you could fly to say Rouen - a short train ride from Vernon.
Best perhaps would be to rent car in St-Malo and drive.

I guess you'll have to compare time and efficiency vs. cost but it's not complicated getting to Giverny from CDG. Take the RER B from CDG to Gare du Nord and then take the RER E to Gare Saint-Lazare where trains depart for Vernon. Also possible RER B to Châtelet-les-Halles and métro line 14 to Saint-Lazare. Either method takes just under an hour. You could also take the Roissy Bus from CDG to The Opéra and walk to Gare Saint-Lazare or take a taxi direct to Gare Saint-Lazare.

You may fly into Orly - then take RER C into Paris and metro to Saint-Lazare - bit easier IMO than flying into CDG or from Orly take the OrlyVal people mover to Antony then RER Bto RER E as FMyTours describes.

Indeed, you must compare the two methods -- boat to Saint Malo or flight to Paris. I was in Jersey with a friend from Singapore once, and we went to Saint Malo and rented a car to drive to Paris, but we could have driven to Giverny just as easily.
My main memory of this trip is that we were devoured by bedbugs in this totally lovely B&B in Jersey -- and this is the one and only place that I have ever encountered bedbugs.
