In Venice when I walked onto St. Marks Square, I just started to cry.. It was amazing. Oh, yes when we were in Rome and I saw all those shoe stores..

1. When I saw my bill after three nights in a nice Venice hotel! <BR> <BR>2. When I saw THE David in Florence. <BR> <BR>3. When I saw Newschwanstein Castle lit up at night as we were driving back to Munich. <BR> <BR>4. When I saw the Sistine Chapel and realized the ceiling was flat even though it looked arched. <BR> <BR>5. When I saw Rembrandt's "Nightwatch"...absolutely awesome! <BR> <BR>6. When I saw the coliseum, walked down to the Roman Senate and relized the incredible history that had taken place there. <BR> <BR>7. When I walked through Dachau and asked myself how in the world any man could do this to their fellow man. <BR> <BR>8. When I sat for 30 minutes staring at the impressionist works in the Musee D'Orsay. <BR> <BR>9. When I saw my first Gothic cathedral in Freiburg and was amazed at the time and effort put into that structure during the so called "dark ages".

When I first saw the love of my life walk into the Italian restaurant. She is now my beloved wife.

Driving toward Bellagio, Italy, on the narrow road and seeing the .......Italian drivers. That will really drop your jaw!

Having our flight from Honolulu to New Zealand need to make an unscheduled (not scary) landing in Samoa in a storm in the middle of the night: after hours and hours over empty ocean, a full moon intermittently lighting the towering thunderheads all around us and the tiny speck of land that appeared below, with blowing palm trees and whitecaps along the shore, just visible through rain-streaked windows. It was partly the unexpectedness of the situation, but it truly evoked a jaw-dropping response to the proverbial mystery and romance of the "South Seas". <BR> <BR>

Seeing El Greco's painting &quot;El Enterramiento del Conde de Orgaz&quot; in person in Toledo, Spain, after all those years of seeing black and white pictures of it in textbooks literally took my breath away.

My jaw literally dropped the first time I saw an Italian woman. Of course, then my wife nearly broke my jaw. Now that's amore!

maitaitom, you sound like my husband! We were in Munich a few years ago when we happened upon at least a dozen beautiful, statuesque, scantily-clad women. Turns out they were doing some sort of photo shoot, and they were models. I don't know about jaw-dropping, but I think my husband would call it an eye-popping sight.
