Jane Austen Festival in Bath

Has anyone every been to this Festival? I am leaving for London tomorrow and just found out about this. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books, so I thought this could be fun. If you have experienced it and have any info or tips, please let me know!

Do you belong to the Jane Austen Society of North America? I am going to a local mtg. here in Pgh. on Sat., seeing a few clips from two film versions of Northanger Abbey and then discussion.

Sorry to be slightly tangential, but it seemed timely!

I didn't even know there was a JA Society of NA - I will have to check it out! Thanks! Unfortunatley I never made it to the festival during this visit. I am going to plan a little better next time!

Jane Bloody Austen is the reason that Brewers in SE London do so well. She forces me down the pub.

MissPrism Oct 7th, 2009 04:59 AM

I'll join you in the pub.
I love Jane Austen, but grind a tooth or two when I see what film and TV do to her, especially when they thoughtfully put in the embarrassing sex scenes that she "forgot" to include.

perhaps those were the scenes that Cassandra helpfully burnt.
