<< The butchery class was fab...we are going back for two weeks this August and can't wait!

But please, don't torture us anymore, no more pork/sausage/ham pictures.

Oh well, who am I kidding? If I can't taste them, at least let me see pictures

Thank you so much - this report (and your pictures) are fabulous! I'm mid- planning for a trip this summer; Venice/Verona and 3-4 days in Dolomites. Trying to decide where to stay (2 adults/2 teens). We want small town, good hiking options, but also alternatives if we're just exhausted and can't hike all day, all three days - thinking about Selva and Ortisei. Now planning around the 'phone booths' (will certainly elicit Tardis jokes from my kids - though report sounds as though they are not, in fact, larger on the inside). Any thoughts about basing in one over the other? Ortisei had seemed more developed and touristy, but your photos don't make it appear that way at all. Would love advice. Thank you!!!

Hi there

Glad the report and photos helped! I would definitely choose Ortesei, it is a larger town with more options. We found Selva to be very small and sleepy. But then we were there in Oct at the end of season so maybe there is more happening in season! Good luck with your planning and let me know if you have any further questions!

Your TRs are always so great and helpful, even when they have aged. We are thinking if going there in the fall, so rereading this was great.
i hope you are still traveling and going fun places.
