Izmir to Bodrum
 

After arriving by plane in Izmir, I plan to leave the airport by about 3:00pm. Sunset occurs that time of year at about 8:15pm. Will I have time to see the ruins of Priene that day?

Where should I stay that night? (I plan to see Mileta and Didyma the next day and the guide books aren't as helpful as I had hoped.)

Will I have time to see the ruins of Mileta and Didyma and drive to Bodrum the next day?

I should have mentioned in the above post that I will use a rental car.

Hi Mike,

I recommend you stay in Selcuk and visit Ephesus first.
If you visited ephesus you may drive to Prienne(I recommend you visit this ruin) before Miletus then Didyma, so you do not need to stay in Selcuk. BUT if you are love Archaelogy you have to spend in Prienne 45 minutes to 1 hour and Miletus is same time and Didyma takes half hour.

From Izmir airport to Prienne takes 1.15 or 1.30 hours (depend on your driving skils) Prienne to Didyma takes 20-30 minutes. Miletus to Didyma takes 30-45 minutes. You may stay in Didyma if you want.

Agree with Sinan. Do not skip Ephesus so stay at Selcuk.
Last visit I spend 2 hours at Didyma alne, fascinating.

Thanks for the additional comments, Murat. We're probably going to skip Ephesus on this trip because we have already been there (loved it!). We haven't been to the lesser sights, which can be just as interesting in a different way.
