I've never seen snow!
 

I live in Brazil, a tropical country, so I've never seen snow in my whole life. In January I'm going to Europe, and I think this is a great opportunity. But where? I'm visiting Italy, France and Spain...Anybody help me find snow around those countries? Thank you! <BR>

Snow is overrated!!! I think that in Spain you must go to the mountains or very northeastern Spain. In Italy to the north of the country. In France you might see snow sometimes but for sure in the Alps. For the most beautiful snow scenes go to the Italian/French/Swiss alps. It can be breathtaking. <BR>Have a great trip. <BR>

Apart from the Alps which snow conditions I do not know but also are worth visiting, if you want to come to Spain, this year Granada/Sierra Nevada( Southern Spain-Andalucia) luckily has one of the best snow seasons in the last few years ( now, 140 cms of fresh snow ), and also you can visit that gem that Granada is.

Fer, <BR> <BR>You're not missing anything! Yucky, dirty, cold, wet miserable stuff that makes for bad driving! <BR> <BR>However, if you must find snow, I would suggest starting at Munich. Go to the Marienplatz, climb to the top of St. Peter's Kirche and look at the Alps about 50 miles away. Plenty of snow there, but you may not have to get in it. <BR> <BR>On the other hand, if you realy, really have to have snow, then head South from Munich to Salzburg or Innsbruck Austria. Both of these locations are easily accessible by train, and you will find snow! <BR> <BR>Good travels, and remember you have to pack the stuff real tight to make a good snowball!

Fer, <BR>Snow is best out in nature. It's like walking in sugar and in the late afternoon, shadows on the snow are blue. In Colorado, we seek good snow like surfers seek the big waves. In Breckenridge, there are ice sculptor contests with larger than life figures. On your trip in January, when you find the snow, find some children to show you how to make snow angels. Oh I understand your desire to see snow--what a wonderful thing snow is. Too much of it can be a bad thing, but this is true with everything in life, right? Anyway, I spent January in the Northeastern parts of Italy, and there was much snow while I was there. I was in the Marche Region, close to the mountains, and we got plenty of snow. I was actually surprised, not expecting too much cold to begin with. So definitely try to be in the mountains of Italy, and hopefully you will find snow. <BR> <BR>geocities.com/j_goyette/t.html

I've just finished shovelling it off the path, its over a foot thick here (near Glasgow)...You should have no problem finding snow in January.If snow is forecast do NOT head for the mountains, the roads will be difficult.
