Winning the lotto isn't the cure -- it's the enabler!!! It would allow us to travel as much as we want to wherever we want... ah, such things dreams are made of!!!!!!!!
I'm planning a trip to south Florida for Xmas to visit friends and relatives, then honeymoon in London in August, and perhaps a New Year's 2006 in Edinburgh (crossing fingers) |
Forgot to mention I get the travel planning bug from my maternal grandfather. He always said 'half the fun of a trip is planning it!'
|
I agree-have the fun is in the planning.
Ira, I laughed at your suggestion that I don't need to see the rest of the world - except for Paris. When I was a little girl, we had a playroom in the basement that my mother had decorated with posters she had gotten from a local travel agent. One was the Arc de Triomphe, one, Leaning Tower of Pisa, one the Colosseo and one of the Taj Mahal. I've seen three of the four,I guess that's why I'm going to India next! Seriously, though, I've grown so much in so many ways because of travel in ways I couldn't have expected. I've worked with orphans in Romania, had a blast in Greece, and so many other great experiences, but I'm greedy, I always want more! So after Italy, time to step outside my comfort zone for awhile and head to Asia! |
We try to plan trips to places other than Italy, but can't get ourselves to do it. Since we are able to take only one extended trip per year, I don't think we could go two years without visiting Italy. And with so many places there to visit, why go anywhere else? we ask ourselves.

i think i should find a job as a travel agent since i'm looking at fare prices so much.
the '05 trips i'm more confident, past that i just like to daydream. but w/ only 2 trips a year, u have to be selective: may 2005: northern italy & rome oct 2005: spain 2006: greece and southern france 2007: ireland and vienna/prague |
Deidre,
I agree with your assessment of people with big weddings marriages ending quicker than small ones. Of course, that's not true for ALL of them....I believe that sometimes people spend too much time preparing for the wedding DAY...but not the MARRIAGE. Ok, back to the topic at hand. We're going to Prague in March 2005, Hawaii in August 2005 and hopefully Kenya in 2006. |
I think this is our form of an AA meeting. Hello, I'm Tom and I am a "travel-aholic". I don't know if alcoholics plan which bars they are going to but I, for one, am definately planning my next trip.... and the next, and the next.
Why do you think thye give us FF miles? It is to keep us hooked. "Just one more trip and I will have enough miles for another trip after that". But as long as you are asking, as soon as we get back from Germany and Austria at Christmas we will start doing our laundry for another trip to Germany in the Spring time. And we can't wait to get back to London. But wait... let's see what SAS is putting on sale today, maybe we will go there. |
I switched gears this year and went to the New England States for fall. As beautiful as it was, my heart is forever in Italy. Unfortunatly ,i cant seem to get past it! I will do Mexico this comming year because of my timeshare( I do like Mexico alot) but Italy- here i come for 2006 :).

"Yeah, what's up with the high divorce
rate among overly-weds" Maybe when the big wedding ball starts to roll, 6-9 months before the wedding, the participants are unwilling to disengage when they discover maybe they hadn't picked Mr/Ms wonderful after all. So much is paid for & reserved so far ahead. |
