Itinerary question
I guess I'm joining the crowd of "help with my itinerary". I'm wondering if I should give up the idea of squeezing in Florence/Pisa. Does someone know how long by train from Florence to Positano? I know I should add a day or two to Florence and take off a day or two in AC but have reservations in Positano that I'd like to keep. P.S. We are a family of 2 adults/2 teens. We fly into Rome and out of Naples. Thanks in advance for any help.
Rome - 3 days Florence/Pisa - 2 days Amalfi Coast & Capri - 8 days |
Positano is not on a train line. Here is a thread on getting from Florence to Positano:

Hi joan,
>I know I should add a day or two to Florence and take off a day or two in AC..< With only 2 days in Florence, I also suggest that you delete Pisa. 8 days on the AC might be a bit long for teenagers. From Florence, take the train to either Naples or Salerno. From Naples, take the Circumvesuviana to Sorrento and the SITA bus to P. From Salerno, take the ferry or SITA bus to P. Train schedules are at www.trenitalia.com Approx ferry schedule: Salerno (P.zza della Concordia) – Amalfi: 08,40 – 09,40 - 11,30 – 14,10 – 15,30 ((I)) |
I'm not sure what plans you have for the AC, but with 13 days, I would do Florence - 4 days, Rome - 5 days and AC - 4 days. With 4 days in Florence, you could day trip to Pisa if that is what everyone would like to do.
