Itinerary July Ireland Trip Thoughts?
We have planned our trip to Ireland this summer and would love any thoughts on our current plans.
Day 1- Arrive in Dublin, rent the car and drive to Kinsale, spending the night there. Day 2- Enjoy Kinsale in the morning and afternoon, then drive to Dingle. Spend the night in Dingle. Day3- Dingle, tour the ring Day4- Dingle, Blasket Island/fungie Day5- Dingle, bike gap of Dunloe Day6- Drive to Galway through Conner Pass, stopping to see The Cliffs of Moher and The Burren. Spend the night in Galway Day7- Galway, Day trip to Connemara and the Kylemore abby Day 8- Galway, Day trip to bike at the Aran Islands Day 9- Drive to Dublin and spend the night. |
I think you have the overall pace about right. I imagine that the sequencing of things in Dingle and Galway is not set in stone.
I suppose you are aware that the Gap of Dunloe is near Killarney, 90 minutes or more from Dingle. |
Thanks! Yes, things are not completely set in stone, just ideas

The only thing I would say is that the drive from Dublin to Kinsale is quite long. Maybe consider staying some place in between the two.

It's long enough, but by no means difficult. It might be a problem if one starts jet-lagged, but otherwise no.
If you start in the morning, you can visit the Rock of Cashel en route, pop into Cahir to see the castle, survive the traffic congestion around Cork, and still be in Kinsale in time for dinner. |
