itInerary help Tuscany May 2025
Hello, I’m hoping for some help with planning our trip in Italy next Spring. We are flying Air France from California to Florence. I’m using the free stopover benefit on Air France to stay in Paris for 4 days at the beginning of our trip. Arrive in Florence on Sat. May 3, for 3 nights. We really only want to re visit a couple of museums, then we are going on to Siena. I have 4 nights reserved at Palazzo di Valli - departing on May 10. We are flying home out of Milan on May 20th. How many nights would you spend in Milan?
Suggestions for the second week of our time in Italy. Ravenna? Bologna?, Parma, Lucca? We plan on renting a car to get around Tuscany, but we maybe return it before Milan and take the train there. any suggestions on Accommodations in Florence. At that point I think we might need to do laundry Thanks in advance for any and all help |
I would suggest 3 nights in Milan; you will want to see the Last Supper, Duomo, VIttoria Emmanuel Galleria, LaScala opera and DaVinci museum. The key to the Last Supper is getting tickets early and as soon as they go on sale for your date(s). Get them for the first or second day you are in Milan so if there is a labor strike and the museum is closed, you have 1 or 2 more days to try to and get in. Tickets are non-refundable and don't automatically guarantee you'll get in the next day -its like standby.
We stayed, as a family, at Accademia hotel in Florence and it was fine, well located a couple of blocks from the train station and well priced as we had multiple rooms. |
