itinerary help- seville/ granada/ cordoba/ ronda
 

Hi. I will be accompanying my husband on a business trip he has in Seville in early March. Please help with my itinerary and what special things I should wait to do with my husband until he finishes business. He'll have some evenings free and maybe a morning where we can meet up.

We arrive Seville Wed afternoon and his work starts late day Thurs. Planning to sightsee around hotel area (staying at Melia Colon- good?) and rest a bit from travel. He will finish up by noon Sat and we have free until early Tues am when we depart out of Seville. Our hotel is paid for Sat night (not by us) so thinking maybe we should do day trip to Cordoba on Sat early afternoon, coming back to Seville to stay in our company paid hotel. Then get rental car early Sun am and drive to Granada for night. Is it recommended to drive straight to Granada and see the Alhambra Sun afternoon (enough time??), stay night (need hotel- parador is full), then leisurely drive through Ronda on way back to Seville Monday? Any better suggestions? Any ideas on inexpensive Seville accommodations easily accessible for early am departure on Tues?

I plan to sightsee in Seville area until Sat when he is finished with work. Any better suggestions? Any day trips on train recommended?

Hi. My husband and I visited Granada, Cordoba, and Seville last fall and had a wonderful time. I would suggest heading to Granada Saturday afternoon and staying in Granada. You can see the Alhambra in the afternoon. Sunday, get an early start and take the bus to Cordoba. You can easily spend the ENTIRE day. Stay in Cordoba Sunday then head back to Seville and finish up some sightseeng with your husband. I would skip Ronda since you don't have that much time.

Thanks for your response. I had planned to rent a car to go to Granada as I think that is often the best way to really see the area but you mention a bus to Cordoba. So would we drive to Granada from Seville then return car in Granada and uses bus to get to Cordoba and then back to Seville? What did you do? Also, is it really possible to see ALhambra in one afternoon or should we plan to see Alhambra all day Sunday? Thanks so much!

With respect to renting a car to drive from Seville to Granada, I would only do that if you plan to visit other towns between Granada and Seville. If you plan to go directly to Granada, I would take the train or bus. It is difficult to drive in Granada and it sounds like you will be there for only one day.

Thanks for the tip, mamc. We are still finalizing plans and trying to decide if we will have time to stop and visit other towns along the way. If not, the train/bus sounds like a very good option. Thanks so much.
