Itinerary Help Needed for 9 Nights in Portugal

Hello -

I am taking my wife to Portugal for our upcoming wedding anniversary at the end of October. Here is the itinerary I've come up with and I was looking for some feedback. Our flights are booked arriving Lisbon on a Wednesday and departing Porto the following week on Saturday. In addition to the itinerary feedback, I was wondering if we should base ourselves in Lisbon or Sintra and, if in Lisbon, which neighborhood do you recommend? The proposed itinerary has us based in Lisbon.

Day 1 - Arrive Lisbon

Day 2 - Lisbon

Day 3 - Lisbon with day trip to Sintra

Day 4 - Lisbon with day trip to Cascais

Day 5 - drive to Evora

Day 6 - Evora

Day 7 - drive from Evora to Fatima and end day in Nazare (overnight Nazare)

Day 8 - Nazare to Porto

Day 9 - Porto

Day 10 - depart Porto

Hi
We did roughly the same.
We slept in Sinatra or close to and it was not a highlight. A day trip by train seems to me better.
We saw Obidos that we loved.
We spend 2 nights in Porto and used one day to drive along the Douro. It was exceptional.

Day 7 - drive from Evora to Fatima and end day in Nazare (overnight Nazare)

Day 8 - Nazare to Porto>

Seems like you'd get to Nazare just to sleep?

I'd maybe suggest stopping in Coimbra -fantastic old town then next day stopping at Batalha - UNESCO World Heritage Site monastery en route to Porto.

What hello,
Why didn't you like sleeping in Sintra or close to it?
We hope to go to Lisbon in April, and I haven't decided if we should see Sintra as a day trip or stay overnight.

Thanks for the input. I thought we would have some time to explore Nazare in the early evening and then again in the morning before heading to Porto. The monastery at Batalha sounds like something we would definitely be interested in seeing.

We spent 2 weeks in Portugal last summer. We stayed near Rossio Square. Fabulous area to stay. Walking distance to so much. I am not sure Cascais is worth a day trip. We had a private tou of Sintra and stopped at Cascais for n hour on the way back to Lisbon. We loved Evora. Make sure to visit the University of Evora. The tile is amazing. October in Nazare may be big wave time, which should be something to see. We also did a day trip to Obidis, which we enjoyed. Porto and the Douro Valley were wonderful.
