Itinerary help? Madrid-Sevilla-Valencia

My husband and elderly inlaws are travelling to Spain in March and I need help organizing an itinerary for 11 days starting with Madrid. Was hoping to go to Sevilla from there and then end in Valencia (for a the last 4 days).

Can you help me decide:

1. Best way to get from Madrid to Sevilla, Sevilla to Valencia, Valencia to Madrid. Train? Bus? Car?

2. If we went by car, how far would these trips be?

3. This is the route we have to take because of some meetings in Sevilla and Valencia--anything else enroute will be welcome sightseeing! Anything or any place a must in this route?

4. Any recommendations for hotels, quaint bed and breakfasts or similar?

5. Any other tips for this trip?

Thanks all for any advise you can share!

i would consider flying from sevilla to valencia unless you would like to break up the trip at Granada, which i think is defintely worth seeing.

from granada to valencia about 6 ours by car .
if you have small bags, they will fit into trunk. otherwise, you can send the oversized luggage onto valencia by bus, collecting it at destination same day or days after.

this has been a solution that has worked for us when my family from the u.s has brought those big suitcases that donīt fit anywhere.. in the car or at home, except in the garage!

yes, we do plan to break up the trip at various places en route to Valencia.

We'd stop for a night or two here and there. Is this drive doable?

thanks!

you can go to www.mappy.com to see routes and times.

it is perfectly doable.

granada-guadix-( cave houses)

on way back to madrid a nice stop at alarcon, national parador.

sevila carmona and cordoba should not be missed.

there are good trains and express buses between mad-vlc.

Thanks for your input! What site can I visit to check on train schedules from Valencia to Madrid? This is better than flying, yes?

This is for my elderly inlaws. They need to catch a flight out of Madrid, coming from Valencia.

Thanks!

depending on what time their flight is the next day, and if they are not too able bodied , and into going out at night, i would fly from valencia to madrid ( can cost as little as 40 euros) , go to an airport hotel with free shuttle, and have them take them to the airport in the morning.

the train is nice, also. go to www.renfe.es

but then you wlll need taxi to the hotel and taxi to airport.

if they have a lot of luggage, i find the BUS better. there is an express bus that costs less than the train, and they store your bags underneath.. which is wonderful. it makes one stop mid-way.
