Itinerary for Milan-Venice-Davos: 7 days

Looking for trip itinerary advice for traveling by train. Flight into Milan. Then want to get to Venice and then need to be in Davos, Switzerland about 7 days later. Davos is mandatory (family visit) and Venice is also a must-see. Looking for best route and stops along the way, including which type of train best to take. Thank you in advance! Oh, this is in the summer. Thank you, Julia.

Venice - Davos takes about 9 hrs. Venice dp 6.20, 6.50, 9.50, 11.50, 13.34. Change at Verona, Bolzano/Bozen, Meran, Mals, Zernez, Sagliains and Klosters Platz.

The leg between Mals and Zernez is actually a bus.

Thank you. Any suggestions on which locations to stop at for a night or two between Milan - Venice - Davos? Thank you.

I suspect that the easiest itinerary from Venice to Davos could be via Milan and Bellinzona. There should be a bus leg somewhere, in this case is the St. Bernardino pass from Bellinzona to Thusis. Once you decide the itinerary, there are plenty of places to stop.

The itinerary I described is much more scenic than that via Milan, however. You may stop over at
Verona: Roman amphitheatre, medieval city center
Lake Garda: short sidetrip from Verona up to Peschiera and Desenzano. From both places, you may go by boat up to scenic Riva at the Northern end of the Lake (4 to 5 hrs boat journey). Buses from Riva to Rovereto and connecting trains to Trento - Bolzano/Bozen.
Bolzano/Bozen: medieval town in the alps with the world famous Oetzi Museum. Cableway from the city center directly into the mountains (Oberbozen/Sopra Bolzano).
Merano/Meran: resort town in the middle of vineyards.
Scuol: mega scenic mountain village with famous thermal spa. Google for all these places: tons of info in the web.
