We definitely do not plan much in advance, except for our flights and an occasional hotel. The rest is pure chance. We read tons of travel lit, review Fodor's and Thorntree, and then wait until we arrive to decide what to do. When we start actually doing tourist "things," after a day or two wandering streets, we only choose ONE thing per day, after that choice is done, the day is devoted to wandering, choosing a restauant or whatever. We rise late, leave late, and our attitude has always been, what we don't see, we won't worry about it. I work a fixed schedule during the year and between racing to the gym and other chores, I want to be and expect to be leisurely on my vacation. I am very impressed with all the planning done on this board, but like I said, I don't worry about what we don't see.
