Italy wilth travel planner

I am familiar with a few travel planners (Audley for example). What does Avoya offer?=left
We want it all done for us on this trip to Italy

It looks expensive and unnecessary.

What does it offer? Not much more than you could glean from Fodors, but at a hefty price. Why? Italy is a pretty simple self-plan holiday.

This would appeal to my SIL and her husband. They don't like to do any logistical research, read guidebooks or learn much about a place before they go. That doesn't mean you can't do this in addition to working with an agency, but it isn't really required. This is the opposite of the way I like to travel.

But I would read reviews about any travel service very carefully. Avoya gets its share of complaints.

If this is the way you wish to travel, then the choice is yours really. It is my understanding, at least from what I am aware of, is that Audley specializes in more luxury plans/packages. But you can actually plan such on your own, too.

Personally, I enjoy the planning and research aspect of travel and prefer not to let someone else's "opinion" sway in where I travel, what I see, where I sleep or even what I eat. You may feel differently.
