Italy vs US Daylight Savings Time

The US is instituting a new Day Light Savings Time this year. With the clocks being set ahead on the second Sunday of March instead of the First Sunday of April. (I live in the Eastern Standard Time)

I was wondering if Italy will be doing the same thing? We will be in in italy during this time frame, and was wondering if they will be the normal 6 hours ahead, or 5 hours ahead becasue the US has already set the clocks ahead.

If anyone has a link that will clarify this issue, it will be much appreciated.
Thanks!!!

The US, Canada, and Bahamas have implemented the change and that's all, so Italy will still set their clock forward at the same time, which used to be before the US but will now be after.

Most EU countries have been changing to DST (or summer time as it's called in the UK) on the last Sunday in March, and will do so again this year. I don't know if you would call this "official", but here is a website that mentions the time change in Italy: http://web.italiantouristboard.co.uk/it/ind/i90.html.

Continental Europe switches to summer time from the last Sunday of March to the last Sunday of October. So there will be 2 weeks in March where the time difference will actually be 5 hours instead of 6.

It's only been in the last few years that Italy actually did this at the same time in the US. I gained 3 hours on my life on 3 different trips to Italy in September that I never had to "give back." Too bad I slept them away . . .
