Seamus, did the Pisa portion of the tour include inside of the Duomo?

I agree that only one day in Venice would be unsatisfactory. DH and I returned to get 2 more times.

And I'm of the a visit to Venice of less than a week is a crying shame tribe. How can one not want to wander around Torcello and Burano and spend hours in the Ca' Pesaro and singing and dancing with the Jews and eating challah with honey on Christmas Eve in the Jewish quarter - absolute magic. And that was only one magic moment. I could spend lifetimes in Venice.

I would never recommend Venice as a day trip. If that's all you have to give it, I would go ahead and skip it.

Venice is great choice especially for romantic travelling
