I am just now reading this delightful report. I need Kaitlin to write my report as I never seem to get it finished.

Thanks so much for the "teen perspective," Suki. This is a real help in planning a trip to Italy for my husband's teen daughter. Kewl! ;)
|
Suki - I missed this report the first time around, but glad I found it now. I love your daughters reaction Locanda Orseolo and the staff. That's exactly what I thought of the place! On of our favorite hotels now.

Suki--thanks so much, that was a terrific report. Having just traveled to Europe with my teens, it was so interesting to see the similarities. Just like your daughter, my son really enjoyed seeing sites that he had heard about (he told me that he had a checklist of about 50 things he wanted to see in europe and he got to see about 10 of them).
Your daughter sounds like a great kid and I'm really impressed with the fact that she wrote the report. |
I just read this report while pulling up some other things. Thanks for posting it. Nice to see things through a kid's eyes. When we took our daughter to europe at about that age or a bit younger, she kept a journal and included drawings of all the different toilet types she encountered. Made for a really fun read/look.

Suki, your daughters report is a treasure. It is great fun and quite interesting to hear what a young person really thought of her trip. Wish I could get my 17 year old son to write a report!
|
I missed this the first time!
Thanks, Suki, for sharing your daughter's wonderful trip report!!! |
What a great report! Thanks for sharing it, Suki. (I too love the "teenspeak"!)
We're going to Italy this summer with our 2 daughters (11 & 17) so it's really cool to read about what interested your teen. My girls both want to bring journals with them so hopefully I'll be able to share their reports when we get back. |
Well, thanks, starrs for bringing this back to the top. What a surprise.
Andasamo, I hope you have a great trip. My 14 year-old is now 16 and almost totally non-communicative so it was great to remember how she used to be (and will be again I'm sure.) |
Wait until 24. That seems to be the magic age based on my personal experience. :-)

Yeah, like, we have to improve the art at the Uffizi because there are no "famous" pictures in there.
As for the pigeons in San Marco, be grateful only the pigeon landed on your head and not something else. Thanks for the totally cool like teenager take on Italy. |
Wow, thanks! I'm 21, but I remember those days...
Well, I'm visiting Rome, Florence and Venice in about 2 week's time too, luckily this thread will help give me some perspective on what to do there. Thank your daughter for me! (will make a mental note to make a travel report to once I arrive back) |
Suki - this was fun to read. Our 23 y-o daughter was with us in Paris and Rome this Christmas and she was FUN to be with. Who knew! LOL...I remember the trip we took when she was 16. She sat in the back of the car writing postcards to her friends about how terrible we were. It gets better!
