Hi MollyJones,
I requested the Scavi tour on 10/28/05 by sending an e-mail to [email protected], and received the auto-reply within 5 minutes, and the confirmation for the tickets on 11/5/05. After reading all the horror stories on this forum about people trying to get tickets, I was a little nervous, but I had no problems at all. Most likely due to travelling in the off-season. I can imagine it's much more difficult to get them in the summer!
Thanks all for the comments on my photos. I love to take pictures (though work tends to get in the way of that most of the time!) and am trying to learn more about it and take better pictures

Thanks for a great report! I am going to Rome and Florence for the first time in Feb'06 and so was interested in how the weather was for you. Like you, I have gotten some great ideas from this forum and yours added to the wealth of information. Thanks again!

Thanks again for the replies.
DonnieD - at many of the sites, it did feel like we almost had it to ourselves! This really was a great time to go - we didn't encounter lines anywhere, and we didn't find any of the sites to be crowded. I've talked to people who've gone around the Christmas/New Year's time, and they said it was much more crowded.

Wow...your pictures make me want to move my trip up a few months. I know it's a silly question to ask, but how cold was it as compared to the weather in your neck of the woods? I'm guessing you're from CT...if so, I'm across the border from ya.
