Tra6-Thank you so much for your report! I'm so glad that I came across it--my husband and I (late 20s) are doing practically the same trip in July (we leave June 30--I can't wait!) Our first stop, in fact, is Venice and we're staying at La Calcina! I really appreciated your restaurant recommendations, your photos, and all your other pieces of advice. I know it's going to be hot in Italy during our trip, but I'm also in academics (just finished Ph.D. and am starting a professor position in fall) so like you I have to take advantage of my summer vacations!
