Italy train strike

While checking seekitaly.com for another poster, I found this potential strike FS (Ferrovie dello Stato - State Railroads). Does anyone know if these are the workers on the ES trains? We are planning on taking the train on March 20 from Rome to Florence.

Some long distance trains will still run even during strike hours. Check the strike hours carefully--often there is a window of opportunity at morning and evening rush hours. However, many people will be trying to travel then. Watch the strike info carefully and consider traveling a different day. It's your call.

Just checked--the strike begins on March 20 at 2100 (9PM). Go in the morning or early afternoon.

Does anyone know if this will, in fact, include the ES trains? Any recommendations if we already have reservations? We leave on the 17th and have several relatively short train segments after the 20th...Rome to Venice; Venice to Florence. Any suggestions are appreciated!

The strike on March 20 is only 24 hours, so unless you plan to hop a train again the next day you should be OK. In my experience, the strikes include ES.
