Italy to Amsterdam help

Next summer we willbe spending a week in Italy and then head off to Amsterdam for a few days before headingback to the states. Seems the najor airkines are very expensive for one way travel. I have been eyeing ryanair and also easyjet but don't know how dependable they are. Can anyone tell me whetherthey are prob=ne to cancellations and what heppens if they do? We are still plannning the trip and are flexible about which airport to depart but are [lanning to be in N Italy. ANyhelp is greatly apprecaited.
Also our current plan is to spend a few days in Miolan and then head to either Lake Como or to Verona Basso Del Grappa/Verona/Asola area for afew days. Any comments on which area you would suggest? Thanks

Another cheap airline you can use from Amsterdam is Transavia:

This is a spinoff of KLM.

I've used EasyJet, Ryanair, and Transavia, and had no problems with any of them.

Cancellations are rare with any of these. Figure out what your backup plan would be with any airline.

You might check out the prices for round trip vs one-way .If round trip is cheaper then simply dont "return".

loro:
I researched this and, to second WillTravel, found transavia having inexpensive twice daily flights out of the Bergamo airport.

loro,
In the past I've found that KLM/NW allows long layovers in Amsterdam if you book to another city in Europe. See what it would cost for a flight to Milan with a 3 day layover in Amsterdam on your return.
