Italy- tickets to main attractions

I will be visiting Italy in July and I am wondering how to go about getting tickets online for the Vatican, Coliseum and Uffizzi? I worry about buying tickets online but I know the lines for visiting these places in July are very long.
Thanks

Buy direct from official sites and what could go wrong? Only option to avoid long lines. Hopefully others will have personal experiences to allay your fears.

It's all very well to say "buy direct from official sites" but how do you actually know you are doing that?

Here's some to get you started.

Good luck!

Online and in advance when possible (you have to know your exact schedule for some things and the weather can be a factor for others). An open pass would be best.

Some hotels will call and make same day reservations for you.

We took a bus tour of Paris by night and it included dinner in the Eiffel Tower. It wasn't to the top but I think we could have gone after dinner. So, some tours will include the sight you wish to visit and you get right in.

Book ahead whenever possible-nothing worse than waiting in line in the hot sun. Here is where you book to see David

or2's link is to a tour company. I believe this is the direct link to the Accademia
Galleria dell'Accademia

Good catch! Sorry OP. Def go right to the source to avoid paying up charges.

Here's the link to the official site for the other main museums of Florence:

Musei Civici Fiorentini

And here is the official site for the Uffizi, academia, etc:

Acquisto biglietti Uffizi Accademia B-Ticket Sito Ufficiale Firenze Musei

Confusing isn't it?

However you can usually get to the official website for the museums of any city or place by searching for "museicivici di [insert place name] or "polomusei [insert place name].

Make sure you use the direct links to the museums, historical sites.
