All your suggestions(cities) will be in a direct path of the train frome Rome to zurich.total lenght of our trip is 8 days.let us to know how we will organize our trip.also how much is your estimate for total train cost for your suggestion path(for each person)?

You can see ticket prices for Italy here:

www.lefrecce.it

and for Switzerland here www.SBB.ch/en

actually you could probably use the Swiss site for both.

The direct path from Rome to Zürich goes through Firenze, Milano, and Lugano. As you wish to follow this path, you should set your mind on Firenze as the intermediate stop in Italy.

From Milano onwards, you have tot take in account that the Swiss part of the Intercity train Milano-Zurich is cancelled and you have a stopover in Chiasso or Lugano, this apparently till coming December. You should check that out when ordering your tickets.
From Milan, you could also go to Zurich via Bern.

As your trip takes only 8 days (7 nights?), I would settle for 3 nights in Rome, 3 nights in Firenze and 1 night in Zurich.

You are proposing to see 5 cities in 8 days - this is really not realistic as you havent included the travel time (you will lose about 1/2 day each time you change locations). You will spend the whole time in transit where you wont see anything of the cities you are visiting.

For 8 days on a honeymoon I would pick 2 places max so that you actually get to see some of the places you visit.

Vatican is in Rome so you can visit that while in Rome.

I would personally fly in Venice, spend 3 nights, then train to Rome and spend the remaining 4 nights and fly home from Rome.

due to a current 2 for 1 sales on 4-day Swiss Passes, even the journey from the Italian border to Zurich added to just a few other trips can make this special offer (for travel thru the end of November I believe) good even for limited train trips - and it also gets you into over 400 Swiss Museums, including several in Zurich, free and is good on lake boats on Lake Zurich and also Lake Lucerne, an easy day trip by train from nearby Zurich and IMO Lucerne is one of the most gorgeous cities in Europe - can be a good base - so many neat things scattered along Lake Lucerne - like Mt Pilatus, Mt Rigi (Swiss Pass covers the mountain trains there in full), etc.
