Italy sim question
We are looking to take our iPad mini to Italy. We are trying to work out the pre-paid data sim card possibility. We have never done this before. We are looking at holidayphone.com from Italy. This is 60.00USD and has 10Gb on it. It is shipped to our home and it is supposedly pre-programmed. Does anyone have experience with this company or do you have a better idea? We would use the mini as the hotspot for the others in the group when we are back in the apartment. Thanks for any advice. I am still trying to move along in the technology world and feeling pretty stupid at times.

Why not buy one in Italy? There are TIM stores everywhere.

That is what I was trying to find out. Thanks kybourbon! Your advice has played a big part in our trip planning.

Read this link about the other companies in Italy (Wind, Vodaphone, etc.) and how to activate and stop service. I like using TIM for cell phones because they have stores everywhere if you have a problem. I always try to make sure things are working before leaving although sometimes activation there is an activation time. With the IPad sim's, it seems prepaid and ending service are the important things.

This seems to be Vodaphone current prices. I don't know where the Vodaphone stores are (saw one in Sorrento last trip) so you would have to check if they are as convenient as TIM. TIM's prices will be similar.

Thanks again! I am going to check this out tomorrow and I will ask if I have other questions.
