Italy: Seeking kid-friendly activity ideas

We're visiting Venice, Florence and Rome (4 nights in each) in March with our 7-year-old daughter and her grandmother. We've been doing plenty of research, but I'd love to hear any suggestions for fun, kid-friendly activities that we can layer in with our other plans. Of course, we'd love to hear from anyone, but particularly hoping to get some tips from parents who have traveled to these places with kids.

In Venice, we're thinking a glassblowing demo could be fun. Is there anything we should plan in advance, or just go to Murano and explore?

In Florence and Rome, we're buying the "Mission: Florence" and "Mission: Rome" scavenger hunt books, which look like they'll keep the kid entertained and engaged.

She's done well on past trips to Scotland, Iceland, Honduras and Grand Cayman (the latter was easy, beach and pool, ha ha), so we're not overly worried about keeping her interested. Mainly looking for ideas for things to sprinkle in with the rest of our sightseeing. Thank you!
