Italy questions: Rome Hilton, Venice Hotel Bel Sito, Praiano- Hotel Tritone

Hello,

Has anyone stayed at the Grand Hotel Tritone (Praiano), Hotel Bel Sito (Venice), and/or the Hilton in Rome recently? How about dinner at the 'La Pergola' restaurant at the Hilton? They claim it's the best in Rome.

Thanks!

The Bel Sito has 4 or 5 floors with rooms, and NO LIFT. Other than that, it's a good 3-star hotel, centrally located to San Marco, Rialto and Accademia.

La Pegola is on my "list", so clearly I haven't been there! It was reviewed in glowing terms by Faith Willinger, and you can see that review on epicurious, I think.

Mike,

Thanks for the reply. I couldn't find the review for La Pergola. Please post again if you have any more info. Thanks again!

We stayed at the Rome Hilton Cavelerie and LOVED it. We will return there. Excellant service and up on a hill just a 10 minute cab ride to the city. The views of Rome are the best. Be sure to ask for the side of the hotel that faces the city. The large pool and gardens are on the city side too. We stayed on the executive floor and had the lounge available for breakfast, snacks, deserts and drinks. Breakfast (in the lounge) was very nicely done. We had reservations for the restuarant but cancelled because we were tired that night. We did have the Sunday brunch and were very pleased with the selections.

The room we had (I believe on the 7th floor) had been re-done and was very classy and large. Our room had neo-classical furniture, marble bath, and very tasteful decor. I did see other rooms when the doors were open and they seemed to have very nice, more american looking decor.

I highly recommend this hotel. It does not have drive-up appeal but the inside and the gardens in the back will be worth it.
