On Lake Como, there are lots of lake front towns that can be visited by using the scheduled boat service. We have been to: Varenna, Bellagio, Menaggio, Dongo, Colico, Lenno, Como, Torno, Lecco, Moltrasio and Bellano. And there are more yet to see. For us that will be in 2008.

Hi Sharbear,
As you've been to Tuscany before, why not go somewhere different after Venice. also Tuscany is quite a way from the lakes if that's where you want to end up.
I just had a look at the map, and saw Ravenna, Ferrara, Modena, and bologna. or there's the Dolomites- lots of threads here about staying there and they would be great in May, with walks and spring flowers.
and you're closer to the lakes for the third leg of your trip.
