<i><font color=#555555>"The problem with the Florence, Rome, AC itinerary is getting to Florence after flying into Rome from NY. With 4 jet lagged kids, not sure we want to take another flight?"</font></i>

If a connecting flight doesn't conveniently fit into your plan or budget, and you want to start your trip furthest north and work your way down, the train to Florence from Rome is only an hour-and-a-half. Thousands of people make this connection, because flights to Florence are often a pain to coordinate.

I'd worry more about the jet-lagged adults than I would the kids.

If you can afford a splurge, you can hire a car service to drive your family to Florence soon after you arrive to FCO. This service is not uncommon to American families working with a similar itinerary.

anthonyjr,

Where are you flying from? We used to fly Delta nonstop from JFK-Pisa quite frequently. I believe it's a seasonal flight that only runs in the summer months, so check it out. Would save you quite a bit of time and stress!

WWK - flying from JFK......you are correct...I think they resume non stop flights in June. Thank you. Your posts are extremely helpful.

So...assuming the flights work out......basically the decision comes down to Florence/Rome/Sorrento (AC) or stick to the south Rome/Sorrento

Kwren, sorry for the delay. We stay at La Bruciata. It is right outside Montepulciano. It has a nice pool and 4 apartments. The rate comes with breakfast and one dinner the first night. The other nights you can have dinner for 25 euro/person, kids much cheaper. The food is really good. The place is gorgeous. The only downside is the breakfast/dinner room is under the apartments and it can be a little loud. It is weird to complain because it is always quiet shortly after 10 until 8am, so it isn't too bad.
