Italy: Itinerary Critique, Please

Here is my itinerary for mid-April. What do you think? Too much, too little, just right? Be brutal.

-2 nights Zurich (Park Hyatt)
-train to Como
-4 nights Como (Villa d'este) w/ rental car
-drive to Venice
-4 nights Venice (Apt. Corte Grimani)
-Fly to Naples
-3 nights Naples (Grand Hotel Vesuvio)
-Ferry to Capri
-3 nights Capri Palace
-Fly to Milan
-1 night at Malpensa airport hotel (Crowne Plaza)

Some special reason you can't head home from Naples?

Como is not the ideal base to visit The Lakes - too far from the main attractions. The Bellagio-Varenna area would be better. Better yet: Lugano, the most scenic of The Lakes IMO.

Ellen- To get to LA we have to fly out of Milan and my husband doesn't want to chance missing our connection if we flew from Naples to Milan with only a small time difference between flights.

Any other comments, anyone?

When you say "Villa d'Este" do you mean Cernobbio and not Como ?
If yes, I think your plan is perfect, really.

Ottimo, ciao.

I would say I just don't know if it is too much or too little or just right as we don't know what it is you want to see or do or experience-off the top of my head, I would take 2 days off Como but where to add them becomes the question. I would take 2 nights off Naples but do you want to see more of Capri or Rome(& where is Florence?). I am not criticizing-if it fits your bill then go. Good Luck
