ITALY ITENIERARY PLEASE HELP.

I am going to Italy for 11 days at the end of may. This is what I have so far.
We are arriving in Rome May 24th at 6pm, and we would be there until May 27th-in the day. We are looking for somewhere to go for two days. I have somethinng booked in Siena, but the more I talk to people- I am hearing it is not a place to stay for 2 days, there is not much to do.
My problem is this. I have a reservation on a train May 30th, from Venice to Switzerland- So I want to stay somewhere between Rome and on the way to Venice. Is there somewhere with a beach nearby we can stay ? Will it be beach weather ?
We will be arriving in Venice morning on SAturday and leaving at 8pm on Sunday. Is that enough time there ?
So all in all, I am looking for a beautiful place ( perhaps with an amazing beach) on the way to Venice from Rome, that we can stay two days and not feel bored.

Thanks !!!

You can spend at least 5 days doing day trips from Siena there are wonderful towns to see ,San Gimigano,Siena, Pisa,Volterra, Lucca, Montecatini, and you can even go to Florence for a day. As far as a beautiful place north of Rome I would say to go to Porta Ercole on the coast. There is a beautiful small hotel called Il Pellicano.
I don't think May is really beach weather.
As far as Venice to arrive on Sat.morning and leaving Sunday I would either stay longer or not go at all. That is not enough to do Venice.
You need at least 3 full days.
Good luck

Split the entire time between Rome and Venice.

Late May is not swimming or even really beach sitting (swimsuit) weather in northern italy. I too would forget the beach and add time to Venice.

Two days in Siena is too much? That's crazy! I spent 4 days there and still didn't feel finished.
