Italy itenary questions

We plan to leave Chicago on May29, spend 3 days in Rome, 5 days in Florence ( 2 of them going to seina and the hill towns) 3 days in Venice, 2 days in Andelo ( where my husbands family is from ) and 3 days in Switzerland (more family). Any suggestions would be helplful.

Your trip sounds busy but wonderful. I'd be tempted to shave a day off Venice and add it to Rome as you'll be jet-lagged when you arrive there, but that's just my personal preference.

Switzerland will be a nice contast to Italy -- where will you be visiting?

Have a great time!

I'd agree with Kathryn, but only if you actually are giving numbers of nights, not days in each city.
If three days in Venice includes the day you arrive and the day you leave, and you're spending two nights, just leaving one full day, I wouldn't cut any off that. If you meant three nights in Venice, that leaves two full days there, and you could sacrifice one of those days to add to Rome.

I'll disagree with Kathryn and Patrick. I'd shave a day or two of off Florence, not Venice. We spent 4-1/2 days in Venice on our first trip and didn't have enough time to visit such well-known attractions as the Accademia and Guggenheim museums or any of the other lagoon islands (e.g., Murano, Burano, Torcello).

Rufus, actually you aren't disagreeing at all. wsz has a couple of threads going, and in a separate one several of us have already talked about shaving off time from the Florence stay.
