Hi.
I strongly suggest that you do a Search
on this site for previous postings. You will get LOTS of info on all the cities you mention. Good luck and have fun.

Polina, Sounds like a nice trip. I hope
you have about 3 weeks to do all of this. Also, how do you plan to travel?
I assume by train-- starting in Rome and
ending in Prague by car would cost you a bundle. You must be big city people.
You will be going right past some of the best destinations in Europe to get to the next big city. My itinerary would
include Siena, Lake Garda, Salzburg, and
Cesky Krumlov just to mention a few.
Any good guide book can give you the tourist sites in these cities, and the hotel choice are a function of price.
Contact me directly if you want some other ideas. Good luck.
the next big city
My husband and I just got back from Prague and loved it. There is a good english paper called the Prague Post which rates all the town's restaurants by price and quality. We stayed at Hotel Express at Skorepka 5 for $30 a night. We shared a bath and toliet with three other rooms, it wasn't terribly clean but the view was fabulous and they deliver breakfast to your room. The old castle, Charles Bridge, the old astrological clock and the Estates theater are just some of the fabulous architecture there. I highly reccomend these internet sites: http://sunsite.mff.cuni.cz/prague and http://www.czechsite.com

Polina. We are going October 2, '99 with another couple (the Shermans actually). I have done ALOT of research including Fodors postings. Being compulsive, I have a 3 page extensive Itinerary giving our hotel reservations, plane (all made - we use frequent flyer miles), helpful web sites, activities, restaurants, shopping, etc.

We are going to Venice, Florence, renting car for tour of Tuscany and then on to Amalfi coast. Dropping off the car in Rome. The information received from people that have responded to Fodor's postings have been invaluable. E-mail me your fax number if you would like a copy of Itinerary. As you know, there is such a divergence of opinions, budgets, etc. that there is no substitute for your own research. Duck.
