italy in ll days and what to see

We are arriving in rome on December 23, 2016 and planning on midnight mass at the vatican. After that what is the best to see and do heading back to london to leave on January 2, 2017. We love tuscany, the amalfi coast, railway travel, villa stays.
Help with an itineray

Sounds like you want someone to do your itinerary rather than help. It sounds like you have been to Italy already. I am surprised your previous trips did not spark ideas for future trips.

we? ages, sizes, numbers, interests, issues, loves....
You got any meals booked?
Hotel or appartment?
It may be Italy but it is still winter. Any interest in skiing?

If I was doing this sort of thing, I'd check into a hotel in the Dolemites and get them to feed me for 11 days, while I use the pool.

What do you want to do?

After Christmas, I'd recommend you head to Tuscany where you can stay in a villa, then take train to Naples to visit Amalfi.

You have very few days not impacted by travel and holidays.

How much moving around do you want to do? And how did you want to travel? I probably wouldn't want to be driving/traveling on rural roads at that time of year so that would limit me to cities accessible by train.

The deciders for me would be where I want to spend NYE and how easy it would be to get from there to London.

Yellow Bar for $1 yellow shots (orange juice, lemoncello, and vodka) then head out to the Trevi Fountain for some selfies and amazing pics with the fam and friends!

BTW, you don't have 11 days.

Don't forget Salerno, it is famous for it's christmas lights in the whole city! Naeples is famous for the nativities! So I say, if you want to be at Rome on the 31, go directly to the amalfitan coast, visit from there Salerno and Naeples and then go to Rom and stay there until 2 january!

See here a little film about the lights!
