Italy in April

My husband and I are going to Italy in April- trying to figure out a plan...I've never been there before. We are probably staying 8 days- thinking about doing Rome, Florence and Milan??? Or would Tuscany be an option as well??? also- any great suggestions on hotels- average price?

Hi W,

With only 7 nights I suggest flying into Venice VCE - 3 nights, train to Florence - 4 nights (visit Siena), fly out of Florence FLR or Pisa PSA.

what do you consider average? Please let us know what your per night hotel budget is.

I agree with Ira. Milan is a wonderful city, but if it's your first trip to Italy, Venice and Florence are a must. The only thing I might suggest is to make Venice two nights, do a night in Rome and fly out of there. This way you can see the biggest sites in Rome. It's less than a 2 hour train ride from Florence so if you left in the morning you would have the whole day and night in Rome focusing on the major sites.

I have to add......and that way you still won't be too rushed.
