Italy: Hotel quote/booking etiquette

Hi, what do I do about a room rate quote that I do not want to accept? Is a polite "thank you but.." necessary/preferred? It's a medium sized hotel for those interested several months away.

Thanks in advance :)

No reply is necessary. In fact, with lots of hotels in Italy, they will not reply if they don't have availability for your requested stay.

If I'm communicating via e-mail,however,I will usually respond with a short thanks but no thanks. It's so easy to do.Trust me,though,I doubt they're sitting by the computer waiting for a reply. Most hotels (especially the ones regularly recommended here) receive soooo many requests for information.

Hi V,

It is always polite to respond to a letter, fax or email even if your response is, "No, thank you".
