Italy Hotel Help

Buon giorno,

I am planning a trip to Italy this winter. We are going to visit Rome, Florence, and Venice. I really could use some help narrowing down the list of hotel candidates in these cities. Ideally we'd find places that are in good locations, clean, private bath, double bed, and not toooo expensive.

My comfortable range is $70-$150 Euro per night. (Ideally we'd find places on the lower end of that spectrum.)

Anyone know of good places in these cities that perhaps are not in the guide books?

Thanks!

Do some searches on this forum like "Venice Hotel"....you'll learn more than you ever wanted to know. :-)

That's the low end, price-wise in all three cities. Probably worth your while to look at the "reviews" on www.eurocheapo.com

And of course, there can be big differences between 70 euro per night (do you mean double, presumably?) and 150.

Best wishes,

Rex

I'm doing the same thing for April. Searching the prior threads will give you lots of info, but here's what I decided: Venice: Locando Leon Bianco 150E, Florence: Hotel Dali 75E, Rome: Fellini B&B 100E (shared bath). That's for a double. I haven't been to any of these places. My picks are based solely on comments from this board, comments on tripadvisor.com, and comments on venere.com. Good luck.

we've been all over Italy a number of time and each time we have booked hotels through initaly.com and all the accomodations were exactly as they told us...I would recommend them.

Max:

Me, too. Planning (researching for March).

In Rome we've narrowed it down to 3 sites. All double, en suite bath

Pantheon View B & B
http://www.romeby.com/pantheonview/pages/profile.htm
104 to 130 euro

Pensione Panda
http://www.pensionepanda.com/index.htm
93 euro
or apartment (5 nights)

Apartment at Plaza Navona
2 beds
110 euro/night

In Florence, we're seriously considering Hotel Casci based on comments on these forums. I have some others bookmarked...will look thru them and let you know if they look better.
