Italy First Timer - Honeymoon Help

First, let me say hello - this is my first time posting.

So, to all those Italy Experts -

My fiance and I wil be going on our honeymoon in early October. We are looking for warm relaxing weather, an uncomplicated and relaxing itinerary (perhaps an all inclusive-non-cheesy resort) and beaches. Of course, all at a reasonable price with airfare. I am looking for location suggestions as well as information on when a good time to book flights, etc.

Your help is greatly appreciated!!!

Oh, and did I mention we want to go to Italy? Sorry....

Forgive me for being the naysayer, but this hardly sounds like Italy is the place you want to be. Maybe Sicily? or Malta (which is a separate country, not part of Italy), or even better the Caribbean (hurricane season notwithstanding).

Hope you find others who look at it differently, and might be able to give an answer more in tune with what you were hoping to hear.

Either way, congratulations on your new life in marriage... and...

Best wishes,

Rex

I was in Positano, on the Amalfi Coast last October and it was still warm. It did rain a bit, though. In October, you can't really guarantee perfect beach weather.

It sounds like you're more interested in lying on the beach than seeing the sights (which is sort of a shame in someplace as fascinating as Italy!). This would be my suggestion. Fly into Rome. Take a train to Naples, a train to Sorrento, and then either a bus or a cab to Positano. It's not "uncomplicated".... but once you get to Positano you can just stay put. The beach in Positano is a rock beach, but it's a very nice area and very low key/relaxing. You could also take a boat to nearby Capri and stay there for some time. Two of the nicest hotels in Positano are Le Sirenuse and Hotel Palazzo Murat. Good luck!

Hi eb,

Tha Amalfi Coast does not have big sandy beaches, they are small and pebbly, but it is a lovely place to honeymoon. October is warm, but you can get rainy days.

You should be able to get good prices on flights to Naples in March/April.
