Italy Desktop Wallpaper...I know there's a Fodorite somewhere who will know!

I'm not having much success so I though I'd ask here...it's somewhat travel related and
anyone in love with Italy will understand.
I'm looking for a sight for free desktop
backgrounds of Italy (and possibly other Europeon countries). I found one sight with
pictures I liked but when I set them as a background they were blurry. Anyone know of
a good sight? Thanks to all!

I went to www.webshots.com and did a search on Italy. Here's the link below.

I got my picture of Varenna from the Cinque Terra website. Enlarge it on the webpage first, then set enlargement as wallpaper.

I too used webshots. On my old computer I scanned my own pictures and used them, but I haven't gotten around to that on my laptop. On webshots I picked out about 10 wonderful places I've been and they rotate as a screensaver and as my wallpaper for desktop. I set them to change about every 10 seconds.

Another idea is to check out National Geographic (http://www.nationalgeographic.com/si...ry/places.html) where there are some very good quality images (full quality 1024x768 or 800x600). You can also check the NG Photo of the Day archive (http://lava.nationalgeographic.com/c...od/archive.cgi), though they've disabled what used to be a useful search function.

Enjoy,
Paul

I like Venice, so I use shots of traffic on the Grand Canal that I get from the live webcam there.

Thanks everyone and especially ecat. Went to webshots.com and found so many
wonderful photos of past and future destinations I now can't decide which ones to use. I have my screen saver changing photos....I may never leave the
computer. Well, until it's time for my
next trip anyway! ;-)
