Italy - Bellagio

Any suggestions on accommodation at Bellagio for the same price around $200Aust Metropole Hotel or Hotel Bellagio, and which is in the best position? for end of July for 4 nights.
Thanks
Anna

I can't picture the Hotel Bellagio, and not sure where it is in town. You couldn't beat the location of the Metropole with balconies literally suspended out over the lake itself and just a few yards from the ferry or the other boats and no traffic between you and the lake. The rooms won't win any awards for decor. They are more clean, comfortable and basic rather than luxurious.

Ditto NeoPatrick. I don't know the Hotel Bellagio. We loved our lakefront room at the Metropole. It was simple and small, but you are there for the balcony hanging over the lake! Great bargain in my opinion.

The Hotel Bellagio is a short distance up one of the salitas (stairway streets) from the main piazza and ferry dock. I think their website is a little deceiving as to views of the lake, and I'm frankly surprised their rate is the same at the Metropole. Probably because it has been renovated in the past few years.

If you would consider an apartment in the same area of central Bellagio, look at www.residencelalimonera.com.

The top 2 floors of the Hotel Bellagio have great views of the lake.

I should also add the Hotel Bellagio has air-conditioning which was a real plus during our stay.
